Shared ownership and shared duty for a committed team. Iona is run by a small team of highly motivated people. Due to South Africa's social history, the workers were often excluded from decision-making and ownership. When this property was revived as a wine farm in the late 1990s, it was at a low ebb, as were the workers. This was turned around by sharing the ownership and the responsibilities of the farm with the permanent team working here. Today, everyone is proud to be an important part of Iona.
